Latest Practical Conference Information
Our IFRWH/FIRHF conference takes place in conjunction with the 21st International Congress of Historical Sciences (ICSH/CISH), and the participants in our conference have registered with the ICSH/CISH.
All participants need to collect their conference materials (conference bag, ICHS/CISH program book, badge and other information) at the central conference desk in the Atrium!!
The conference desk is in the Atrium of the University, Oudezijds Achterburgwal 237, Amsterdam.
  
Opening hours of the conference desk:  
Sunday August 22:                                         10.30-16.30
Monday August 23:                                        08.00-17.30
Tuesday August 24 to Thursday August 26:     08.30-17.30
Friday August 27:                                           08.30-17.00

How to get there:
From Amsterdam Central Station you can take trams  4, 9, 16, 24 or 25 to (the) Spui.  Cross the street and canal and go into Grimburgwal. At the end of this small street you will see a gate in the right corner. This is the entrance to the Atrium.

In Amsterdam the public transport system use a ticket called the “OV chipkaart.” We advise you to buy a chipkaart in advance, because when you buy them with the tram or bus driver, they are much more expensive. You can buy such tickets at the GVB ticket and information shop opposite Amsterdam Central Station. Registration for the IFRWH/FIRHF Conference Dinner on Friday August 27

On Friday evening there will be a dinner in the “
Kompaszaal,” for which advance registration before August 20 is required. The costs for the dinner are 25 euro per person.The Kompaszaal is a grand café and restaurant which is situated in the historical 1950s arrivals and departure hall of the former KNSM, a famous Dutch shipping company which existed between 1856 and 1981. It has a great view over the IJ, one of the rivers which end in Amsterdam.
