Professor Adele Perry is a historian of gender, colonialism, and the nineteenth-century.  She is Professor of History at the University of Manitoba.  She is co-editor of four editions of Rethinking Canada: The Promise of Women's History,  the book review editor of the Journal of Colonialism and Colonial History, and the author of a forthcoming new monograph on an elite Metis-Creole family and the nineteenth-century imperial world to be published by Cambridge University Press.
